Xander O'Doul is a simple hotel cook. Xander's haunt takes all of his team resources, and when the grumpy cook comes into his orbit one too many times, he learns Xander is trying to keep him at arm's length because the man is on fire for him.

As they explore what's going on at Xander's house, they also fall for each other, and when Iago gets in a family way, they have to navigate combining their lives as well as figuring out why Xander's house is fighting them every step of the way.
